Reuther advises Hansa Battery on the sale of a 99 MW ready-to-build battery storage project

Reuther advised Hansa Battery on the sale of its 99 MW standalone battery storage project near Hilgermissen, Lower Saxony, to a major independent power producer. The project was sold at ready-to-build stage; commercial operation is expected in the second half of 2028. The transaction closed in the first quarter of 2026.

Hansa Battery is a German developer focused on utility-scale battery energy storage. The company develops large-scale storage projects from an early stage through to ready-to-build, creating assets that contribute to the flexibility and stability of Germany’s energy system.

The transaction reflects the continued maturation of Germany’s standalone battery storage market, which has become one of the most active BESS investment sectors in Europe.
